Black Friday is a perfect time to shop for just about everything: from housewares to jewelry, you will find everything you have been looking for — and more — at a deep discount. But what you shouldn’t forget in the rush is that your mother will probably like a few things as well. We’ve got a couple of suggestions to get you started:
Reading Gadgets: Even if your mother insists that she prefers to read “on paper,” there are a few things about a Kindle or an e-reader that she’ll love — portability and font-changing capabilities are two big ones! Don’t forget to grab her some accessories, like a case for her reader and a gift card so she can stock up on books as well.
Coffee Pods and/or Coffee Maker: Some parents simply will not buy a new coffee maker until theirs dies on its feet… it’s up to you to change that! Look for a single-serve coffee maker that can upgrade her coffee-loving life, or stock up on new and exciting flavors for her existing coffee maker. You could also consider buying a rack to display coffee pods or a milk frother.
Diamonds: From diamond earrings to a diamond necklace, these are always a good idea. No matter how many diamond baubles your mom has, you can always get her one more. Consider a charm bracelet exclusively for diamond charms, for example, and start with one bought during Black Friday. We like JCPenney for great Black Friday deals.
Air Fryer: Why? Because an air fryer is pure magic, that’s why! From sweet potato fries to donuts to everything in-between, you can use an air fryer to enhance every meal if you wanted. Our suggestion is to prepare something extra-yummy for your mom to show her how to use it, like cinnamon-sugar donuts. Grab an air fryer at Overstock.com.
Hidden Gadgets: From keychains that are flash drives to RFID-blocking wallets, there are plenty of ways to help your mom stay current and stylish while also helping her out technologically. We like the clutch purses that also charge gadgets, because then you can always get in touch with your mom when you need. Start at Kohl’s.
S’well Water Bottle: There’s a reason why these bottles have a cult following... they are so effective at doing their job, and they are also fantastic-looking. Buy a cute one in her favorite color.
Safety Measures: Lots of people have invested in WiFi-enabled camera doorbells, but perhaps your mom hasn’t. Keep her safe by installing a security camera or Ring doorbell and showing her how to use it.
A New Phone Plan: It’s shocking how sometimes your parents try to “save” and don’t tell you. Consider taking over the bill and trying something like Mint Mobile or Q Link Mobile, which have low prices and allow you to port a number.
Black Friday is a great time to shop for mom, and this is just the beginning. What deal do you plan to score?
